Thank you for making Frigos a part of your holiday tradition

This is a wonderful time of year. We are cheerfully stocking our shelves and counters with special delights of the season- chestnuts from Italy, dried figs, a wide selection of imported cheeses just to name a few. We love seeing customers come into the store looking for the traditional foods that they put out for their antipasti and holiday meals.

Stuffed artichokes are available at our stores. Made with breadcrumbs, garlic, and Parmigiano-Reggiano, they are slowly simmereduntil they melt in your mouth While the turkey is the center piece for most Thanksgiving tables, the side dishes are a way to add color, variety and personality to the meal. Our handmade port wine cheese balls, brussels sprouts with walnuts and cranberries, broccolini roasted with tomatoes and garlic all would be wonderful additions to your Thanks

To Italians especially, some holiday foods are so familiar and sentimental they are like a piece of the family. For the Frigo family that dish is our stuffed artichokes. Mommy France would have a plate of globe artichokes loaded with breadcrumbs and garlic on the table every Thanksgiving. She would patiently instruct the younger kids on the art of eating these prickly suckers. Too large to feed just one, the platter was passed around with calls of “who’s gonna split?” ringing around the table. A dish that makes you work for the pleasure of enjoying it and makes sharing necessary…what a perfect food to eat while giving thanks for those around you.
